Panauti Bike Station is an initiation by three young professional trekking guides from Panauti. The bike Station is established with the aim of providing a full range of services for cycle tourism (bike hire, guide, tour design) for tour operators, groups and individuals. We offer exciting and adventurous cycling experiences around Panauti. Our vision is to shape the future of cycling by inspiring more people to ride bicycles, by making the sport more attractive whilst contributing to the wellbeing of the local communities and promoting sustainable development. We design various exciting cycling tours in and around Panauti to advocate for a safe, equitable, and sustainable environment.

Efforts:

Panauti Bike Station has inspired many youths of the community who were planning to go abroad for work and study. They have seen the opportunity and learned that there are possibilities to earn in their own country. Panauti Bike Station has selected and trained some boys from the locality. Thus all the management, operations and ground handling is done by the locals of Panauti. We build confidence, leadership, knowledge, and community by teaching bicycle skills to all ages​.

Impacts:

• Proper training for all local cycle guides for maintenance of cycle and operations and trips.
• Local guides can earn in their own place without going abroad or to other places.
